YUNUS EMRE CULTURE AND ARTS CENTER

Opened in 1994, the Yunus Emre Culture and Arts Center serves citizens in the fields of education, culture and arts with the facilities it offers. The center has a usable area of 10,600 m² and houses a 550-seat wedding hall as well as two multi-purpose halls with capacities of 310 and 175 seats.

Giving importance to civil society activities, Keçiören Municipality provides suitable working spaces in the Yunus Emre Culture and Arts Center for the Keçiören Branch of the Atatürkist Thought Association and HASVAK (Turkish State Hospitals and Patients Aid Foundation).

Aiming to deliver educational activities to every part of Keçiören, the Municipality has also opened a branch of KEÇMEK (Keçiören Vocational Training Courses) in the Yunus Emre Culture Center. In this way, it is intended to help citizens gain a profession and facilitate their integration into social life.

Under the umbrella of the Children’s Education Center (ÇEM), workshops are held to support children’s physical, social and psychological development in areas such as mind games, painting, wood design, preschool playgroups, gymnastics, robotic coding and speed-reading techniques.

In addition, KEÇİKOOP, which is the first of its kind in Türkiye, is an online sales platform based at the Yunus Emre Culture and Arts Center that encourages citizens to produce, enables them to sell what they make and contributes to their household economy. Through the “Benim Üreticim” (My Producer) application in particular, and with the support of İŞKUR-backed Keçiören Municipality Vocational Training Courses (KEÇMEK), Keçikoop carries out the online marketing and sales of handcrafted products made by citizens and course trainees.

Continuing its work with a social-municipality approach, Keçiören Municipality has also established the Retirees Platform at the Yunus Emre Culture and Arts Center, where activities are organized for citizens seeking to integrate into social life after retirement.

The center, which also houses the Cemil Meriç Public Library of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, serves citizens as a fully-fledged Culture and Arts Center.
