Children’s Development Centers

• Our municipality operates 3 Children’s Development Centers.

• Our Centers serve children aged 36–66 months.

• Opening time of our Centers is 07:30, closing time is 17:30.

• A total of 305 children benefit from our Centers, which offer quality service at an affordable fee.

• We work with specialists and qualified teachers. We support our children in becoming more aware in the fields of culture, arts and science, and we organize activities in cooperation with embassies so they can learn about different countries and cultures.

How Do We Work?

• The aim of the programs we implement is to ensure learning through experience and to respond to each child’s needs as their awareness of the world develops.

• In the Children’s Development Centers, we implement child-centred, family-participation-based programs that support creativity and are grounded in universal values such as gender equality, ecological thinking, freedom, equality, modern life, peace and friendship.

• Each group provides developmentally appropriate materials and activities for children, encouraging a positive self-concept and supporting their social/emotional, intellectual, aesthetic and psychomotor development.

• Through planned activities, children are encouraged to discover new ideas, develop and expand problem-solving skills, language and concepts; a sense of competence and self-esteem is reinforced.

• The activity process adds many new values to children; art and sports activities are among the most important of these.

• At the Children’s Development Centers, music, chess, painting, physical education and dance activities are offered to develop children’s intuition and skills for artistic self-expression.

GÜL ISLAND CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Gül Island Child Development Center is located in the heart of Keçiören and has a very distinctive character with its unique architectural design and landscaping.

• It is situated on an area of approximately 2,500 m², away from traffic and surrounded by parks.

• Inside, there are 15 classrooms, 6 nap rooms, 5 workshops, a dining hall, a sports hall and outdoor play areas.

• Our Center, which has a capacity of 210 students, began operating in February 2021 with a fully renewed interior and staff.

• It provides full-time service for children aged 36–66 months between 08:00 and 17:00.

• Children’s development is supported through branches such as English, music, gymnastics, folk dances, mind games, visual arts, drama, storytelling and values-education workshops.

• At our Center, three meals a day are provided: breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.

• Our institution has:

  • a full-time nurse providing health support,

  • a dietitian who carefully monitors each meal of our children,

  • a child development specialist and a psychological counsellor who closely follow our children’s mental and physical development and hold meetings with parents.

• There is no shuttle (transport) service.
