Our Museum is on the first floor of Estergon Turkish Cultural Center within the body of Keçiören Municipality and serves as Keçiören Municipality Ethnography Museum. Our ethnography museum was opened in 2005 with the opening of the Estergon Turkish Cultural Center.
There are artifacts belonging to Seljuk Period and Late Ottoman Period in our museum. (17.-18. Centuries) These artifacts collected from various provinces and districts of Turkey (Ankara, Amasya, Tokat, Gaziantep, Izmir, K. Maras, Konya, Ödemiş, Tire, Aydin) has been brought to our museum.
There are 1109 pieces in the museum. Some of the works are exhibited in the form of ceremonies and presentations in 10 large display units. (Henna Night Ceremony, Circumcision Room, Turkish Bath, Coffee Culture, Turkish Cuisine, Living Room, Daily Room, Coppersmith Room, Dowry Room).
In 2011, with the contributions of T.R.N.C Güzelyurt Municipality, a large glass section explaining the culture of Cyprus and with the contributions of the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the Municipality of Keçiören, in 2012 the Kazakh Tent describing the “Tusau Kesu” ceremony was added to our museum.
Our museum is designed in an oval, wide area and the exhibition hall is on the first floor of the Estergon Turkish Cultural Center. Our museum is open and free of charge between 09.00-23.00 for all our citizens to visit since the opening date.
